  Gerald T. West is Director of the Policy and Environment Department at the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency(MIGA), a member of the World Bank Group. Prior to joining MIGA in 1991, he served for ten years as Vice President for Development at the Overseas Private Investment Corporation, the U.S. Government agency which promotes private investment in developing countries. Mr. West has been involved for the last 25 years in the risk assessment and management of overseas investments. This included serving as an Adjunct Professor of International Business Diplomacy at Georgetown University from 1983-1995 and in 2003, where he teaches a graduate course on International Political Risk Assessment and Management.
