Lewis Snider

Lewis W. Snider is Associate Professor in the School of Politics and Economics at Claremont Graduate University. Professor Snider teaches courses on foreign policy, international political economy, comparative politics and political risk analysis. During the Gulf crisis and the war for Kuwait, he was a Middle East political consultant and political commentator for Fox Television News in Los Angeles. He has lived in Lebanon, Jordan, and Egypt and worked in Saudi Arabia. He is the author of Growth, Debt, and Politics: Economic Adjustment and the Political Performance of Developing Countries (Westview 1997). Professor Snider’s research on subjects related to political risk focuses on how weak political institutions and policy uncertainty could intensify financial crises in emerging markets and so raise the political risk of investing in these markets.
