Patrick Doyle is the Director of the Political Risk Assessment Department at Export Development Canada (Ottawa), Canada’s official export credit agency, where he has enjoyed extensive international travel for the purpose of assessing political risk and identifying business opportunities. A member of the GRA editorial board of directors he first published in this series in 1983. He holds an M.A. in International Affairs and Comparative Politics from Carleton University in Ottawa, where he now teaches part-time at the Sprott School of Business. Mr. Doyle helped pioneer the field of Political Risk Analysis in Canada and continues to have an abiding passion for the field which he now takes into the classroom as well as the office. In addition to teaching in the Carleton Business School he is a frequent guest speaker at business schools across Canada where he promotes political risk assessment as part of market entry strategies.
